Tom founded Port Property with his father, Jack, in 1993. Since then, Tom has worked tirelessly to develop, rehabilitate, and acquire over 1,500 apartments units between Providence, RI and Portland, ME. Tom is admired by those who have worked with him for his ability to envision the potential of various projects and inspire his team to work relentlessly to achieve that vision. Tom grew up in Acton, Massachusetts and graduated from Stanford University and later from Boston University with an MBA. He now lives in Portland with his wife Judy and their three children.




Brian has been at the helm of Heritage Properties since 2001. In his tenure at Heritage Properties Brian has worked with Tom to develop, rehabilitate, and acquire over 1,500 apartments units between Providence, RI and Portland, ME. Brian is known and respected for his ability to move quickly and efficiently through complex permitting, design, construction, and management decisions while ensuring that all parties feel that they have been treated fairly. Prior to his career at Heritage, he focused on single-family home construction, having built over 350 homes, renovated all types of buildings, and developed and redeveloped land and buildings. Brian has achieved IREM’s Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation and holds a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License (unlimited). 



Acquisitions and Development

Jeff joined Heritage Properties in 2016 and is tasked with identifying, inspecting, and closing new acquisition, redevelopment, and investment opportunities. His specific duties include generating financial models, auditing financial statements, and coordinating the operational transition of new projects.

Jeff graduated from Brown University, where he was a captain of the school’s cross country program and member of the track and field team. Jeff recently obtained a certificate in Real Estate Finance from Boston University. 



Acquisitions and Development

John is an acquisitions and business development specialist for Port Property. His efforts are focused on sourcing deals via brokers and property owners, executing market research, analyzing deals and performing due diligence. John graduated from Boston University in 2006. A twelve-year professional hockey career followed thereafter, ten of which were played in Europe. John spent his last six seasons in Ingolstadt, Germany. He served as Ingolstadt’s team Captain during his final four seasons.



Acquisitions and Development

Mike is an acquisitions specialist with a focus on expanding the Port Property footprint to the Southeastern states. After graduating college with an Economics degree, Mike spent nearly two decades in real estate lending, development and construction in the Portland, Maine area.  Prior to joining Port Property in early 2020, Mike led business development and sales efforts for commercial payment companies and fintechs throughout the country, one of which he founded.

Acquisitions and Development

Melissa is an acquisitions and development specialist who joined the Bush Watson team in 2020. Melissa graduated from USM in 2016 and received a graduate certificate in financial analysis through MIT. Over the past two years, Melissa's key areas of responsibility include market analysis, financial modeling, and assistance in due diligence activities for acquisition and development opportunities. Most recently, Melissa oversees management and development in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Finance and Strategy

David is a CPA and finance expert with over 23 years of experience, applying critical strategic, financial and risk management oversight to the Bush Watson portfolio.  David’s career started with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he specialized in financial services and middle-market corporations, and then with Unum Group, a fortune 250 international group insurance company, where he held leadership roles in tax, strategy, capital management, financial planning & analysis, and risk management.
